We're always looking for Friends of the Shed!
Why donate to the shed?
We're passionate about encouraging re-use and reducing waste, and so it's important that we look to fill our library with pre-loved things from the community.

If you have an item, or items, you no longer need or want and think the community may want to borrow, we'd love to hear from you.
What are we after?

All sorts of useful items (in good condition)
We're talking DIY, outdoor games, gardening tools, stuff for the kids, party essentials, kitchen bits - and more!

As long as it's in good, working condition, we're likely to be keen. If it has its original packaging and / or instructions, even better!.

Electrical items, but not petrol/gas powered items
Items powered by electricity are fine, but we have decided not to carry stock that uses a combustion engine. Promoting sustainability and a reduced reliance on fossil fuels is part of our ethos, and electrical items are easier for us to manage and maintain.
What don't we need?
1. Items that are damaged or don't work correctly, beyond basic repair.

2. Large items of furniture or white goods. For example - Sofas / fridges / wardrobes.
​
3. Non-household items. We're not looking for any clothing or food, for example.

The Letchworth Garden Shed is a Community Interest Company, so we are not for profit.

The income we receive from memberships and lending fees alone isn't nearly enough to fund our operations, so we are massively thankful to the people & groups who support the shed with funding, so we can do what we do!
